Dr. Abdulla Paleri holds a doctorate from the University of Calicut, specializing in the ecology of the Purple Moorhen. A distinguished academic and naturalist, he has presented papers at several national and international conferences, including the prestigious International Ornithological Congress held in Durban, South Africa.

He is the author of four books on wildlife, with his acclaimed work on butterflies earning recognition from the Kerala State Institute of Children’s Literature as the Best Science Book for Children. In addition to his books, Dr. Paleri has published numerous articles in both English and Malayalam and contributed regular columns on butterflies and birds in Mathrubhumi Weekly for several years.

Beyond print, he has also presented features on wildlife through television channels and All India Radio. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to education and science communication, he has been honored with both the State Best Teacher Award and the National Best Teacher Award, the latter presented by the Honourable President of India.
