Dignity College of Arts and Science, Perambra (Unit No: 289)

The National Service Scheme (NSS) at Dignity College of Arts and Science, Perambra, continued its vibrant and impactful activities throughout the academic year 2024-25 under the leadership of Program Officer Mr. Baburajan KP. The unit actively engaged students in various programs that fostered a sense of social responsibility, leadership, and community service.

Throughout the year, the NSS unit organized and participated in a wide range of activities, including national celebrations such as Independence Day, NSS Day, Teacher’s Day, and Kerala Piravi. The unit also conducted significant social outreach programs like the Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign, Breast Cancer Awareness Rally, and visits to old age homes and charitable institutions, promoting compassion and community well-being.

A highlight of the year was the successful conduct of the 7-Day Special Camp ‘EKATA’ at Perambra Plantation, which included environmental initiatives, health awareness programs, skill development sessions, and cultural activities. The camp reinforced the NSS values of unity, service, and social responsibility.

Innovative activities such as the Biriyani Challenge and Iftar Party were conducted to foster camaraderie and cultural harmony among students. Additionally, the NSS unit collaborated with local organizations like ASSET Perambra for charitable projects, including supporting underprivileged communities and organizing social wellness programs.

Environmental responsibility was highlighted through efforts like the provision of drinking water facilities for wildlife in collaboration with the Forest Department, and community engagement was strengthened through literacy campaigns and signature drives for a cleaner Kerala.

Through these diverse initiatives, the NSS Unit at Dignity College of Arts and Science continued to inspire students to become responsible, empathetic, and proactive citizens committed to nation-building and social welfare.
